In a month, the World Diabetes Day> Diabetes Sunt

In a month's exactly the world will be celebrated as World Diabetes Day: The official name of the English countryside is World Diabetes Day , WDD. So November 14, 2008 will be an opportunity to reflect on this important disease that is becoming a pandemic in the world regarding the numbers and the numbers involved: its prevention, diagnosis and treatment. In this day will be possible to sensitize public opinion, media and institutions on these issues, by providing correct, presenting the experiences of people who have a positive approach to this condition.

World Diabetes Day 2008

The WDD had already spoken in a previous article . At the November 14 will be organized many events related to diabetes, even in Italy. For the moment I can confirm some of the main activities that involve me in person:

In Mantua there will be a walk for diabetes, which is officially part of the project Global Diabetes Walk , organized by voluntary associations of local patients. Back in 2007, Mantua was the first Italian city to join the initiative, and this year will be first in line, with more than 100 participants expected to walk the city streets with the common message for a better future of diabetes.
The group of boys' Italian youth panel will be in Perugia, where he will attend the event with a booth with JDRF. It will be an opportunity to market their ideas to people, messages to communicate that we care about most, our active lifestyle even in diabetes. Additionally you can display all the project of the Youth Panel which I belong, which also operates internationally in collaboration with Novo Nordisk.
The Changing Diabetes Bike Day will be a bike ride for cyclists with diabetes, departing Nov. 16 morning from Perugia, for about 60km of riding through beautiful hill towns such as Assisi. Among the participants will probably be there too, if there are logistical problems. This will also broadcast the message of physical activity and sport as major factors in diabetes, all thanks to the work of the association Cycling & Diabetes, with the support of Novo Nordisk.
