Joy's article of September 19 that talks about blogs and diabetes
Joy's article on which appeared Sunt Diabetes is actually a kind of inquiry into Italian blogs discussing diseases, especially diabetes, but also others such as Crohn's disease. The AC-portals Friends and Diabetes Project take pages to list the main Italian blog about diabetes, a changing world: the respective pages here and here , was also recently reviewed Sunt Diabetes, as "one of the most complete and most updated blog in its field in Italy "... Many thanks to all those who are talking about! It would be nice to see greater collaboration between all these blogs, through links and all the tools offered by Internet. Congratulations Sunt Diabetes! About a year ago was published the first article on this site ... And now, 12 months later we are still here, with so many things to say. Nearly 50 articles written, 7000 total unique visitors, 13000 page views not bad to be started from scratch! Indeed, the project is going well beyond expectations.
The idea of the blog was created to have a tool with which to disseminate their experiences and share ideas about diabetes: all this has been useful to talk about this important issue. Over time the site has been improved and enhanced services. I received a lot of satisfaction, and I hope that you visit for you all this is useful!
And for the future ... The ideas are many, there are several new articles in the draft to be completed and published, and several projects in the pipeline. In short: on like this, trying to do even better, though still consistent with the commitments and the time available! Tips are always welcome by: just contact me or leave a comment.

The earthquake in Abruzzo
It is Easter! Day of great celebration! Congratulations to all! The thought in these days can not go to those who are experiencing difficult times, particularly for earthquake victims of Abruzzo. There are many human dramas that weave in situations like these. Among the many urgent problems I think there is also that of people with diabetes, who have found themselves homeless overnight, with the lack of everything, displaced in the general confusion. Diabetes, especially type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes is a chronic condition that requires continuous therapy without interruption. So my hope is that people with diabetes who live in Abruzzo still succeed, despite the difficulties, to have access to insulin and medical need. A similar thought is for people with celiac disease, even in difficult conditions such as these should only eat gluten-free foods. Here are some pointers on how to help these people.
Anyone can send aid to the people of L'Aquila and surrounding channels through major energy, such as the Italian Red Cross ( www.cri.it ) and the Italian Caritas ( www.caritasitaliana.it ). In particular, in order to help people with diabetes and celiac disease, including through the provision of specific material (insulin, needles, syringes, strips for blood glucose, gluten-free foods ...), you can follow the instructions provided on their websites Internet from their own associations devoted to diabetes and cliachia as diabetes Italy ( www.diabeteitalia.it ) and Italian Celiac Association ( www.celiachia.it ). Alternatively you can contact the local authorities and associations. Everyone can do their part in this emergency.

An important innovation is the ability to subscribe to the blog via email, that the possibility of receiving a message for each new article published in order to keep up to date and not miss anything. - When you insert a comment to an article you can now choose whether to be updated for each next to your comments, so you can be updated on the progress of the discussion and any replies to your comment: just check the box next to the module the comment.
- Also new is the availability of the translation of the main site in different languages, as you can see in the sidebar, this is an automatic translation, so the results will not be optimal and are not fully under control.
- You have activated a cache system, which should allow a much faster rate using the site.
- The graphics of the sidebar has been revamped and optimized.
- There is a new system of contacts by email, more efficient than the previous one.
- It is now possible to perform a web search using Google engine, restricted to some sites specializing in diabetes, returning clear results and quality go to look for .
Other actions will include the creation of blogs and other services (including a wiki) Sunt.it on the network, plus there will be an update of the graphical theme of the blog.
As you can see the site's development blog is always open to offer a better service ...
